Bus Shelter Mural
After a recent spate of graffiti in the village, which Long Ashton Together volunteers kindly cleaned up, we felt that leaving a clean white space at the back of the bus shelter at the bottom of Keeds Lane could be inviting more tagging. With this in mind, LA Together asked the community how they felt about creating a mural in the space instead.
The feedback was incredibly positive and supportive so we put the idea to Long Ashton Parish Council who own that bus stop, and they very kindly agreed.
On the weekend of 18th July, our artist started painting a tree.
The weekend after, on Sunday 25th July, we invited all the local children to come and place a painted handprint on to the branches, like leaves. We think the result is fantastic. The children all certainly seemed pleased with themselves. We hope they enjoy seeing their own 'leaves' for a long time to come.
